How groups work today
Every group has its own wall. Open a group and you get three tabs: Discussion (the posts), Members (who is in it) and About (the description, the rules and who created it). Posts written in a group stay in that group — they never appear on the main feed, in search, or on your profile.
Join a group
- 1Tap Groups in the menu.
- 2Browse the list, use the search box on the Groups page, or use search at the top of the site to find a group by name.
- 3Tap the group's name to open it and read what is being discussed.
- 4Tap Join group. You are a member immediately — nobody has to approve you.
- 5Once you are in, you can post on the wall, like posts and reply to them.
Create a group
- 1Go to Groups and use the Create a group box at the top.
- 2Give it a clear name — this is what people search for. For example, Sri Lankans in Manchester.
- 3Add a short description saying who the group is for and what it is about.
- 4Add a category if you want one, and choose Public or Private.
- 5Tap Create. You go straight into the new group, and you are its admin.
- 6As admin, tap Edit group to add a cover photo and write the group rules.
