List an item
- 1Tap Marketplace, then New listing.
- 2Add a title, a description, and a category such as Furniture or Phones.
- 3Enter your price in US dollars and choose the condition: New, Like new, Good, Fair or Poor.
- 4Add your location so nearby members can find you.
- 5Tap Add a photo and choose a picture from your phone or computer — JPG, PNG, WEBP or GIF, up to 8 MB.
- 6Tap Publish. Your listing goes live immediately.
A listing cannot be edited after it is published. If you need to change the price or description, remove the listing and post it again.
When it sells
- 1Open your own listing.
- 2Tap Mark as sold to keep it visible but closed, or Remove listing to take it down.
Contacting a seller
- 1Open the listing and find the Seller card underneath the description.
- 2Tap Message seller. That opens a conversation with them straight away.
- 3Ask your questions there, and agree the details before you travel or pay.
Buying and selling safely
- Payments
- Ceylon Chat does not handle marketplace payments. Nothing is held in escrow and there is no buyer protection.
- Meeting
- Meet in a busy public place in daylight, and bring someone with you for larger items.
- Deposits
- Be careful with requests for a deposit before you have seen an item.
- Suspicious listings
- Use Report on the listing, or report the seller's profile.
