Start a conversation
- 1Tap Messages in the menu.
- 2In the New message box, type the person's username — for example nuwan — and press Enter.
- 3Type your message and tap Send. The conversation is created with your first message.
You do not have to be friends to message someone. The only people you cannot message are those you have blocked, or who have blocked you.
What messaging can do
- Text
- Yes, as long as you like
- Share your location
- Yes — tap Share location and allow your browser to use your position
- Photos and files
- Not yet. To share a picture, post it and send the link, or use another app.
- Unread badge
- The number next to Messages counts conversations with something new
- Deleting
- Messages cannot be deleted once sent, by either side
- New messages
- Arrive on their own every few seconds while the page is open
